전능하신 하나님 교회(전능신교, 교주 양향빈)는 중국계 이단사이비 종교인 ‘동방번개’가 한국으로 넘어와 사용하고 있는 이름이다. 전능신교의 창교자는 한국에서 이단으로 결의하고 있는 지방교회(윗트니스 리, 호함파)의 열렬한 추종자였던 조유산(짜오웨이샨)으로 알려져 있다.

The Church of Almighty God (of which leader is Yang Xiangbin) is the name of a Chinese cult organization known as Eastern Lightning in Korea. This organization was founded by Zhao Weishan, a passionate follower

of the Local Church (founded by Witness Lee), an organization which has been decided as a heresy by Korean traditional churches.

전능신교는 어떤 단체인가?

조유산은 1989년 지방교회를 이탈 해 ‘영존하는 근본교회’를 세운 뒤 근거지를 흑룡강성에서 하남성으로 옮겼다. 하남성에서 ‘참하나님의교회’로 이름을 바꾸고 교리를 만들어 세력을 키워가기 시작했다. 현재 교세는 300만 명 이상으로 알려진다.

What is the Church of Almighty God?

Zhao Weishan left the Local Church and established “Church of Everlasting Foundation” and moved this church from Heilong Jiang to Henan. In Henan, he changed the name of organization to “New Church of the Lord of Ability”. In this time, he made doctrines and principles for his organization. Now, the followers of his organization is more than three millions.

전능신교가 중국에서 사용한 명칭 동방번개는 “번개가 동편에서 나서 서편까지 번쩍임 같이 인자의 임함도 그러하리라”(마24:27)는 말씀을 왜곡해 예수님께서 동방에서 번개처럼 재림한다고 주장해 붙여진 이름이다. 전능신교는 마태복음 24장 27절 말씀에 기록된 동방이 바로 중국이며, 초림 예수는 남자로 죄사함을 위해 오셨고 재림 예수는 여자로 구원과 영생을 위해 오는데 이미 재림해 있다고 믿는다.

‘Eastern Lightning’ is the name used by this organization in the People’s Republic of China. It is from Matthew 24: 27 of the Holy Bible, quote ‘For as lightning that come from the east is visible even in the west, so will be the coming of the Son of Man.’ The Church of Almighty God insists that the ‘east’ mentioned in the Matthew 24:

27 means China and the ‘Son of Man’ means a woman in China. They believe that the first coming Jesus Christ came to this world for forgiveness, and the second coming Jesus Christ is a woman who is already in the world, for salvation and immortality of humanity.

조유산은 조직 중에 일곱 사람을 선택하고 그중 양향빈(楊向彬)에게 “전능”이라는 이름을 주었는데 그 이름이 “전능한 신”으로 바뀌었고 그녀가 동방번개의 여자 그리스도(교주)가 되었다. 양향빈은 공무원 시험에 떨어진 후 정신질환을 앓아오다 지방교회 교리에 심취하게 된다. 급기야 “내가 하나님의 말씀을 기록했다”는 말을 하기 시작했다. 이 소문을 들은 조유산이 양향빈을 성령에 쓰임 받는 사람이라고 부르며 사람들로 하여금 그녀를 받들게 했다.

Zhao Weishan chose seven people from the organization and Yang Xiangbin was one of them. She was given the name of “Almighty” by Zhao Weishan and this name was changed to the “Almighty God”. And she became the woman Jesus Christ of Eastern Lightning (the leader of this organization). Yang Xiangbin suffered from mental disease for some time after her failure of public officer tests in China. She was fascinated with doctrines of the Local Church. At that time, she publicly said that she wrote God’s words. Zhao Weishan who heard her insistence started to treat her as a person with holy spirit and made followers to believe her as a holy existence.

이들은 동방번개 외에도 칠영파, 이차구주파, 참빛파라고 불리기도 한다. 한편 한국에선 ‘전능하신 하나님 교회(전능신교)’, ‘애신교회(愛神敎會)’라는 기성교회와 유사한 이름을 사용하며 포교활동을 펼치고 있다.

This organization has many names, such as “Seven Holy Spirit denomination” “Second Coming Jesus Christ denomination” and “True Light denomination”. In Korea, it uses name of “the Church of Almighty God” or “Loving God Church” which are quite similar to the traditional churches’ names for its missionary works.

전능신교는 무엇을 주장하는가?

『이단 전능신을 밝힌다!』에 따르면 전능신교는 “시대를 율법시대, 은혜시대, 국도시대, 세 가지로 분류한다. 국도는 나라가 임하였다는 뜻이다. 특히 하나님에 대해서 율법시대는 여호와였고, 은혜시대는 예수였지만, 국도시대는 전능자라고 주장하며, 또 그 강림방법에 대해서 율법시대는 영으로 오셨으나, 은혜시대는 남자로 오셨고, 국도시대는 여자로 오셨다는 것이며, 또 그 모습에 대해서는 율법시대는 육신이 없는 영이었으나, 은혜시대는 유대인의 모습이었고, 국도시대는 중국인의 모습으로 왔다고 주장한다. 결론적으로 여 그리스도는 중국에서 사람으로 오신 전능하신 하나님”이라는 사상을 믿고 있다.

What the Church of Almighty God insists?​

According to the article named “The Truth of the Church of Almighty God, a Heresy”, the Church of Almighty God divides human history into three ages: Age of Law, Age of Grace and Age of Kingdom. In this article, in the Age of Law, God was Jehovah who came to this world in spirit, and in the Age of Grace, God was Jesus Christ who came to the world as a Jewish man. And in the Age of Kingdom, God is a Chinese woman. According to doctrines of the Church of Almighty God explained in this article, this organization believes that a Chinese woman is an almighty God.

전능신교의 교리

전능신교는 하나님의 삼위일체 되심을 부인한다. 그들은 근본적으로 삼위일체의 참 하나님을 믿지 않고 있다. “성부 성자 성령의 삼위일체 하나님은 근본적으로 존재하지 않는다. 이러한 사상은 사람들의 전통적 관념이고 잘못된 인식에서 비롯된 것이다”라고 주장하며 “성부가 변하여 성자가 되고 성자가 변하여 성령이 된 것”이라는 양태론적인 주장을 한다. 이것은 중국 호함파의 영향을 받았기 때문으로 보이며, 용어와 예배 형태 또한 호함파와 비슷하다.

Doctrines

The Church of Almighty God denies the Holy Trinity. This organization basically does not believe in true God, the Holy Trinity. The Church of Almighty God insists that the Holy Trinity does not exist and it came from wrongful traditional concepts. Also it insists sabellianism that the holy father changed to the holy son and the holy son changed to the holy spirit. This is probably from the Local Church. Terms and style of worship of the Church of Almighty God are quite similar the Local Church’s.

전능신교는 그리스도가 피조물이며, 그리스도의 구속사역은 불완전하다고 주장한다. 저들은, 예수는 지구상의 한 피조물이며 십자가에 못 박힌 것과 부활은 역사적인 사실이 아니라 단지 상징일 뿐이라고 가르친다. 뿐만 아니라 십자가 죽음과 부활이 사실이라 하더라도 구속사역은 구원의 효력은 갖기는 하지만, 사람들의 죄성을 제거할 수는 없다고 주장한다. 그들은 여 그리스도를 죄인들의 진정한 구원자요 인류의 구원을 완성할 자라 여긴다.

The Church of Almighty God asserts that the Jesus Christ is only a creature. The followers believe that the Jesus Christ is only a creature and the holy cross and resurrection of Jesus Christ are only symbols, not historical events. Furthermore, they believe that crucifix and resurrection are only symbols and they do have salvation effect. Therefore, crucifix and resurrection of Jesus Christ have not removed any sin from the humanity. The Church of Almighty God treats a woman Jesus Christ as their redeemer who will complete the salvation of the humanity.

전능신교는 성령이 삼위일체 하나님인 것을 부인한다. 때문에 성령의 존재와 사역, 능력을 자연스럽게 부인하고, 성령을 성부와 성자가 사용하는 공구(工具)라 지칭한다. 전능신교는 그리스도를 통한 구원을 부인한다. 구원을 얻기 위해서는 계명을 지켜야 할 것을 강조한다. 그러면서 “계명을 지키고 하나님에게 순복하고 하나님(여 그리스도)를 사랑하라”고 가르친다. 전능신교의 주장은 결국 그리스도를 믿음으로 구원을 얻는 것이 아니라, 오직 전능신교에 속하여 그들의 교리를 믿고 여 그리스도에게 순종하는 행위를 통해서만 구원을 얻을 수 있다고 주장한다.

The Church of Almighty God denies the Holy Spirit. Since it denies the Holy Trinity, it denies existence, works and ability of the Holy Spirit. In the doctrine of the Church of Almighty God, the Holy Spirit is only a tool used by Holy Father and Holy Son. The Church of Almighty God denies salvation through Jesus Christ. It emphasizes the obedience to its doctrines and commandments for salvation to its followers. Eastern Lightning’s main doctrine is “obedience to God’s words and love for God (the Chinese woman Christ)”. The Church of Almighty God denies the salvation through Jesus Christ, but it insists that the salvation only could be obtained in the Church of Almighty God by obeying its woman Christ.

중국에서 퇴출당한 전능신교

전능신교는 중국에서 과격하고 폭력적인 모습을 수차례 노출해 문제가 됐다. 지난 2014년 5월, 포교를 거부하는 여성을 구타해 사망케 한 사건이 중국 산둥성 맥도날드 매장에서 벌어졌다. 뿐만 아니라 전능신교를 비판한 삼자교회 목회자 테러, 조선족 지도자 납치 감금 등의 사건도 종종 일어났다. 중국의 한 선교사는 “2001년 안후이성(安徽省)에서는 포교를 거부했다는 이유만으로 사람들의 팔, 다리를 끊고 귀를 자르거나 눈을 팠던 일도 있다”고 전했다. 전능신교는 폭력성뿐만 아니라, 중국 공산당을 따홍롱(大紅龍: 큰 붉은 용, 사탄)이라고 비난하는 등 체제 저항적 태도를 보여 중국 사회의 골칫거리로 전락했다.

Church of Almighty God Expelled by Chinese Govt.​​​

The Church of Almighty God has caused serious social problems in China, because it has committed many cases of violence and aggressiveness. In May of 2014, followers of this organization assaulted a woman who refused their missionary works and this assault which was committed in McDonald, Shandong of China, led her to the death. Also, they committed acts of terror to the pastor who criticized the Church of Almighty God and they kidnapped a leader of Korean immigrants living in China. A missionary in China witnessed that the followers of the Church of Almighty God cut people’s arms, legs, and ears and dug out their eyes, only because victims refused followers’ missionary works in Anhui. The Church of Almighty God not only commits violent crimes, but also officially criticizes the Chinese Communist Party as the Red Dragon, Satan. This attitude has caused serious problems in the Chinese society.

중국은 2012년 가을, 18대 중국공산당대회를 앞두고 사회정화활동을 목적으로 사이비종교 소탕작업을 진행했다. 체제 저항적인 동방번개는 숙청대상 1호였고 그해 12월에는 전능신교 신도 400여 명이 중국 공안에 의해 체포됐다. 중국의 이단척결 정책이 심해지자 전능신교 신도들은 한국, 미국 등 외국으로 몸을 피했다. 특히 한국을 선호했는데, 한국이 종교의 자유를 인정하기 때문에 본인들의 활동에 큰 제재를 받지 않을 것이라 판단했을 가능성이 크다.

The Chinese government swept cult organ izations from China prior to its biggest event, the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, in autumn of 2012. Eastern Lightening was the first on the government’s black list, and 400 followers of Eastern Lightning were arrested in December 2012. Since Chinese government’s anti-cult policy has been maintained and strengthened, followers of the Church of Almighty God moved to foreign countries, including Korea and USA. They prefer to Korea, since Korean government guarantees people’s freedom of religion.

한국에 침투하는 전능신교

실제로 교주 양향빈은 신도들에게 한국으로 가라는 지령을 내렸고, 조직 내 난민 신청을 통해 한국에 체류할 수 있도록 돕는 ‘난민팀’을 운영했다. 전능신교는 무사증 제도를 시행하는 제주도를 통해 한국 땅을 밟았고, 종교적 이유로 난민을 신청해 체류하고 있다. 아직 난민으로 인정된 경우는 없지만 전능신교 신도들은 계속해서 난민신청을 통해 한국으로 들어오고 있다. 난민으로 인정되지 않더라도, 불허 이후 이의 신청 및 행정심판을 제기해 소송 기간 동안(최장 3년) 합법적으로 체류기간을 연장할 수 있기 때문이다.

The Church of Almighty God in Korea

The leader Yang instructed her followers to move to Korea and the Church of Almighty God operated a refugee team for helping its followers to stay in Korea for applying refugee status. They move to Jeju island (a Korean island) which does not require tourist visa for foreigners and apply for refugee status for freedom of religion. They have not been accepted as refugees yet, but they are still moving to Jeju island. Although they have not obtained refugee status, but they may stay in Korea for maximum 3 years if they bring a motion for objection and administration trial.

난민법을 악용해 체류 기간을 연장한 전능신교 신도들은 서울시 구로구 가마산로 141, 서울 구로구 오리로 1330에 건물을 사들여 전능신교란 이름으로 세력을 확대하고 있다. 특히 강원도 횡성군 둔내면 화동삽교로 60-30(구 유토피아유스호스텔)을 매입해 700여 명이 집단생활을 하며 포교활동을 펼치고 있다.

Followers of this cult organization who abuse the Refugee Act stay in Korea. And this organization purchased two buildings. One is located at 141 Gamasan-ro, Guro-gu, Seoul and the other is located at 1330 Ori-ro, Guro-gu, Seoul. these buildings has name of the Church of Almighty God. This organization has started their missionary works. Also, this organization purchased a building located in 60-30, Hwadongsapyo-ro, Dunnae-myeon, Hoengseong-gun, Gangwon-do, Republic of Korea. In this building 700 followers are staying and they are working for the Church of Almighty God.

최근엔 전능신교가 충청북도 보은군 산외면 중티길탕로 136에 위치한 “열림원유스호스텔”과 충청북도 괴산군 청천면에 위치한 “화양청소년수련원”을 매입해 새 근거지로 이용하고 있다. 보은군 지역엔 논,밭, 축사 등 총 1만 2500평, 괴산군엔 대지 4300평, 건물 1800평 규모의 수련원을 매입해 자급자족할 수 있는 여건을 갖춰놓은 것이 확인되었다.

Recently, the Church of Almighty God purchased “Yeol Rim Won youth hostel” located at 136, Jungtigiltang-ro, Sanoe-myeon, Boeun-gun, Chungcheongbuk-do, and “Hwayang Youth Training Center” located at Cheongcheon-myeon, Goesan-gun,Chungcheongbuk-do, Republic of Korea. The organization uses these places as their new bases in the Republic of Korea. In the district of Boeun, the Church of Almighty God purchased land and farm of which size is collectively about 41,322.314㎡. In the district of Geosan, it purchased land of which size is about 14,214.876㎡ and a building of size is about 5,950.413㎡.

전능신교 국내 포교활동

전능신교가 서서히 교회에 접근을 시도하고 있다. 전능신교 신도들이 교회에 들어왔었다는 제보가 이어지는 상황이다. 문제는 전능신교의 포교방법이 한국교회에 큰 피해를 준 신천지와 유사하다는 점이다. 『중국교회 이단 동방번개』(도서출판 목양, 김종구)에는 전능신교의 사업핸드북에 담긴 포교전략과 세칙들을 기록하고 있다.

Missionary works in Korea

The Church of Almighty God is now sneaking in traditional churches in Korea. There are many reports from churches that followers of the Eastern Lightning sneaked in their churches. The approach method of Eastern Lightning is quite similar to the approach method of Shincheonji Church. According to the book named “Chinese Heresy, Eastern Lightning” (published by Mokyang publishing company and written by Jong GuKim), it explains the approach method and strategy of the Eastern Lightning which has been described in the business handbook of the Church of Almighty God.

먼저 ‘내부정탐’ 단계가 있다. 교회내부에 침입하여 호감과 신임을 얻어 교회의 교파, 교세, 인도자와 구성원들에 대한 세부 정보를 파악하는 일이다. 교회의 내부 상황을 파악하기 위한 기초 작업이다. 내부정탐은 그 대상 및 범위를 정하고 있다. 예수를 믿지 않는 사람, 지금도 계시를 받는다고 하는 사람, 신체적으로 심각한 장애를 가진 사람, 삼자교회 또는 삼자교회에 속해 있지는 않지만 직 · 간접으로 삼자교회와 연결된 사람 등은 접촉 금지 대상자다.

Firstly, step 1 is spying. The follower who enters into a target church shall obtain the trust from the existing members of the church and he/she shall spy on the detailed information of the members of the church. It is a basic process for figuring out the internal circumstances of the target church. The Church of Almighty God gives instructions to its followers for this step. The follower shall not contact to non-Christians, Christians who insists that he/she receives messages from God, disabled persons, and a person who is not a member of the church, but who is related to the church.

다음으로 ‘사전공작’ 단계가 있다. 친밀한 관계 형성 후 관념을 돌리도록 진리를 말하는 단계다. 쉽게 말하면, 성도들이 가진 성경에 대한 개념을 혼란하게 해서 자신들의 교리를 주입하는 방식이다. 사전공작이 없으면 목표를 이룰 수 없다고 할 만큼 이 단계를 중요하게 여긴다. 사전공작에 나서는 신도들은 말세에 대한 예언과 성경구절에 대한 지식을 갖춰야 하고 임기응변 능력과 상대방의 심리를 장악할 수 있어야 한다. 동시에 ▲다투는 말투가 아닌 교제하는 말투로 사람의 형편에 대응할 수 있어야 한다 ▲너무 조급해서는 안 된다 ▲우리들이 사용하는 영적인 용어들을 너무 많이 말해서는 안 된다 ▲삼위일체를 부인하지 않고, 하나님의 성별을 말하지 말아야 한다 ▲신원이 완전히 파악되지 않는 사람에게는 별로 중요하지 않은 주소를 주어야 한다.

Step 2 is the preparatory maneuvering. In this step, followers of Eastern Lightning starts to tell their doctrines to target members. They try to make target members confused by telling them doctrines of Eastern Lightning. This step is a very important step, since they may not entice target members, without this maneuvering step. Followers shall master not only Eastern Lightning’s doctrines regarding prophecy and bible, but also psychological techniques for domination. Eastern Lightning gives following instructions to its followers in target churches: ▶Followers shall use soft communication skills rather than aggressive communication skills. ▶Followers shall not rush. ▶Followers shall not use our own terms of Eastern Lightning. ▶Followers shall not deny the trinity and shall not mention the sex of God. ▶For person whose identity is not clearly figured out, followers shall not give exact address to such person.

종교의 자유가 보장된 한국으로 넘어와 본격적으로 활동에 들어간 전능신교. 교묘한 포교수법에 폭력성까지 더한 이 단체로 인한 끔찍한 피해사례가 나오기 전에, 정부 차원의 예방책이 필요하다.

The Church of Almighty God, a.k.a Eastern Lightning came to Korea where has a freedom of religion and started to spread their doctrines and missionary works. Korean Government shall prepare strategies for this cult organization, before this organization commits any serious violence crimes.
